Warhammer World - Antecanus Bastion

The shots below are from a 4,800 point game we played last year on a table at Warhammer world which is now defunct. It main feature was a giant bastion made out of what we estimated to be twenty-two normal bastions and a sky-shield landing pad. It was a great table and I’m sorry to see that it has been retired. GW appear to have reduced the number of feature tables at Warhammer World down, which is a real shame as they are the most amazing boards to play on.

Scenario was Big Guns Never Tire played with a Dawn of War deployment. This one was a win for the Dark Angels/Grey Knights. One isolated tactical squad led by a librarian managed to defend the key objective for three turns against multiple waves of dark elder units before being relieved by a dreadnought and grey knight reinforcements deploying from a Stormraven.

The Dark Angels reserved most of their forces and as a result looked pretty puny

The Eldar host on the other hand, got everything out and queued it up on the starting line

Yep...that's a lot of Eldar...and Dark Eldar

A Dark Angel gunner, busy knowing no fear

Deathwing assault!Funniest moment of this turn was seeing the unit of grey knight paladins that have deep struck on the far right of the picture (beside the join in the board) get vapourised in a single turn of shooting by Eldar guardians

  1. Dude - my gut feeling was that this may have been called Antecanus Bastion?
