Have finally got the big man assembled. By forgeworld standards its not too bad a model to put together, though its tricky to attach the arms and legs to the body in a way that also lines up with the spaces for the arms and legs on the base. Still needs some gaps filling with green stuff, but I'm pretty happy with him. Have put a fire dragon in the pics below as a size reference.

The key to an easy build was using Aruldite Instant. Its a two part epoxy that comes in a double syringe. You mix it together and it forms a paste that is usable within ninety seconds. It's then dry in four minutes and forms a really solid bond. Its great for models like this as the paste fills gaps and can cope with joins that aren't perfect fits. I used super glue for smaller components such as the fins on the back, but used the the two part epoxy for all load bearing joints or where the part had to be held in position while it dried.
